Appearance: Pale-skinned and proud, Harout exemplifies the upper-class of Syria. Rather than go the route of economic reward, he finds satisfaction in serving his country, which in turn, serves him much better than others. 

Political Slant: A member of Assad's Ba'ath Party, Harout has been raised in an environment of political elites. His Alawite devotion puts him in the group of the franchised minority and he continues to work to preserve his party's firm grip on power and status. It also doesn't hurt that he was born in Bashar Al Assad's hometown of Latakia either.
